Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, Dr Taylor completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Human Physiology, followed by an MBBCh degree, both at the University of the Witwatersrand. She completed her internship in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and her community service year in Mafikeng, North West, where she chose to work in psychiatry. Dr Taylor has worked in both hospital and general practice settings, gaining extensive experience in psychiatric care. She further strengthened her expertise by obtaining a Diploma in Mental Health through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She has also worked as a GP for patients enrolled in clinical trials, including TB research, and has additional experience providing general practice care with a mental health focus. Dr Taylor is passionate about mental health and is committed to helping patients live fulfilling lives and reach their full potential. She also has a particular interest in the care of older patients and supporting their long-term wellbeing. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
